
The High Level Fire Department (HLFD) is committed to its ongoing objectives of providing fast, optimal, and professional Fire Rescue and Prevention services to all residents and visitors in High Level, as well as the surrounding areas.
The Services provided by the HLFD include fire suppression, rescue operations, fire prevention, safety inspections, fire training, first medical response, and pre-incident planning.
It is the top priority of the HLFD to provide these services to the best of our ability while ensuring the safety of our firefighters and our community.
About Us:
The High Level Fire Department operates out of a singular station within the Town of High Level, Alberta, and is equipped with modern-day fire fighting trucks, devices, and other assorted gear. The composite department is comprised of a full-time fire chief, deputy, and firefighter position, in addition to Work Experience Program firefighters and a Wildland Urban Interface team, supplemented by paid-on-call volunteers.

- 40 Km Radius of the Town of High Level for Mackenzie County
- Bushe River
- Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement
- Keg River (in cooperation with the Manning Fire Department)
- Highway 35 from Keg River to the NWT Border
- Highway 58 from the Ponton River to the Chinchaga River
- Lacrete
- Fort Vermillion
- Rainbow Lake
- Zama City
- The High Level and Peace River Forest Area
- Town of Manning and MD of Northern Lights

FireSmart
FireSmart is an ongoing national program that aims to educate Canadians on the preventative measures to take to increase neighbourhood resilience to wildfires and minimize any negative impacts.
